Adorable as always, Pope Francis (credits to Rappler) waves goodbye to all the Filipinos who went to see him and attended the mass in Tacloban earlier today.
When Pope Francis saw the catastrophe, Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan, from Rome in 2013, he wanted to be here in the Philippines right away. Despite the rainy weather, he still pushed through with his flight from Manila to Tacloban to bless and deliver a message to those who were greatly affected by the typhoon.
He delivered a very beautiful and inspiring homily during the mass (you may read the full text here). Let me just share with you my favorite part from his homily:
"This is what comes from my heart and forgive me if I have no other words to express this, but please know that JESUS NEVER LETS YOU DOWN. Please know that the love and tenderness of MOTHER MARY NEVER LETS YOU DOWN. We're holding on to her mantle. With the power that comes from Jesus' love on the cross, let us move forward, always forward, and work together as brothers and sisters in the Lord forward." -Pope Francis
Simple yet powerful, don't you think?
I'm sure Pope's message uplifted the hearts of many Filipinos. :)
